As I came to my office this morning I saw the church calendar on the wall, and the verse for August is: “He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still”. Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” Mark 4:39
As I starred at the verse, the “Quiet! Be still.” got more of my attention.
It made me think of Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God.”
As the week starts, and we make plans to deal with all the stressful things ahead, it reminded me that He has the same power He demonstrated back then, and He wants us to trust Him with the storms in our lives.
The disciples were afraid of the storm, as we may be afraid of everything going on in our lives, then when Jesus calmed the storm in such an awesome way; they were terrified to see His power.
I hope we will also be terrified by the display of His power in our lives, and we will give glory to our great God.
Have a great week!
