At work we received a huge new steel stamping press.
In this press we will put flat sheets of steel and hit it with 2900 tons, to form the steel into the desired shape.
In the topic we are studying in our ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship) we are going through chapter 12 of the epistle to the Romans, and particularly verse 2 caught my attention: “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”
I thought about the steel in that press, conforming to the pattern that we have there.
What about the pressure we have from the world, to conform to new spiritual and moral values?
– Abortion is OK…
– Lying is OK…
– Cheating is OK…
– It may be more than 2900 tons.
What if, instead of steel, we were like a sheet of rubber going through that press?
– It would not prevent the 2900 tons from hitting us.
– Maybe we would come out a little scuffed, with some edges torn,
– But we would not conform to the pattern of this world.
